Mallory Knox
The long-awaited return of Mallory Knox finally arrives. For some fans in the audience, this is a moment they could only dream of, For some, it was the first time seeing them, and for others, this was a reunion between friends, fans, and the band. Coming out on stage to ‘Ghost In The Mirror’ sends fans into a hand flying and screaming back lyrics to the band. Mallory Knox makes us all feel like we are back to our favourite young adult tracks again. Their flawless playing makes it seem like the past few years since their split was a dream. Mallory Knox hasn’t changed a day sounding just like they did when Asymmetry came out 10 years ago. The raw of the crowd singing back word for word. Jumping up and down and clapping along. Keeping each other safe while a small fight broke out which the band quickly addressed before going back to singing.
Throughout the entire night, you could experience the love the fans still have for Mallory Knox and how much their sold-out show means to people who have come out to see them on this perfect Thursday night. At one point Mikey (lead singer) takes an audience member’s phone who had been waving at him the entire night to announce that the fan had named his newborn daughter ‘Mallory’ after the band. The sounds that came from the audience that night just felt like home again at a show. The band also performed ‘Beggers’, ‘Death Rattle’ and ‘Shout At The Moon’ before finishing on ‘Lighthouse’ with the audience swaging in time and singing back every word before crowd surfing over the barrier. This was such a special evening for everyone!
