Bowling For Soup Acoustic Album “Stoked On Trent” Review

Texan Punk Rock band Bowling For Soup have just finished their biggest UK tour to date (You can read the Nottingham review here) but that hasn’t stopped the band releasing their brand New Acoustic Album “Stoked On Trent”!

The live acoustic album was recorded during Bowling For Soups live acoustic tour of the UK back in 2022. Stoked On Trent captures the essences’ of a live Bowling For Soup acoustic show from audience participations to the spontaneous and fun loving nature of Bowling For Soup the album Includes many of the biggest hits such as “1985”, “Girl All The Bad Guys Want”, “Almost”, “Ohio” and “Punk Rock 101”.

Overall I really enjoyed this acoustic album style by Bowling For Soup. Having the live elements make it a very easy listen and very stripped back relaxed and a raw live show. Its humour makes it feel like your sat in the audience with them singing along. The 20-song tracklist goes by so quickly. The album is excently reminder if you had been at the live show in Stoked On Trent but even if you hadn’t it still feels like your right back at another show with them! The album is full of classic hits such as “Punk Rock 101”, “Stacey’s Mom” and my own childhood favourite song “Today Is Gonna Be A Great Day” which is the theme from Phineas and Ferb. This is just such a relaxing fun album!
