Children of The Pope Announce Debut Album ‘Moonface Supreme’

South London psych-rock band Children of The Pope have signed with Paris-based independent label Panache and are set to release their debut album, Moonface Supreme, on October 25, 2024.

The band, known for their electrifying performances, will be releasing their lead single ‘Kid,’ a surrealistic ballad capturing youthful wonder amidst the passage of time. To mark this exciting news, they are also dropping a new single titled ‘I Go Downtown’ on July 17, 2024, available on all major digital platforms.

Children of The Pope, formed in the gritty corners of South London, bring a unique blend of dirty guitars, manic vocals, and surrealist melodies to the scene. The band’s lineup includes guitarist Guilherme Fells, frontman Juno Valentine, Matilda Harding on guitar and vocals, keys, and Jasper Eade on bass.

Their upcoming album was recorded in an intense five-day session during the winter of 2022, capturing the essence of their raw and unfiltered sound. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Os Mutantes, Link Wray, and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Children of The Pope offer a refreshing take on the psych-rock genre.
