Delilah Bon has returned to the scene with more rage, more fury and more power. Her second full length album ‘Evil, Hate Filled Female’ is set to be released on 13th September

Balancing her anger at society amongst humorous tracks, her new album takes you on a journey through themes and sound as well as her venturing into more personal and vulnerable topics. A fourteen track collection of blazing hip-hop, nu metal riffs and emotive vocals, ‘Evil, Hate Filled Female’ will have you both considering and feeling empowered.

‘Hey World’ introduces you to Delilah, a tale of her growth. A gripping instrumental opening, morphs into a bass heavy undertone and steady beat as Delilah Bon utilities her hip-hop talents. ‘Hey World’ tells the tale of Delilah entering the industry, a statement to fans and a snappy start for a first introduction.

An unexpected, staticy, hard hitting riff powers you into ‘Maverick’. Serving as the first single release from the album, it is an interesting blend of nu-metal and hip hop – a classic combination that Delilah pulls off well. A feminist anthem that chants mantras to live by. ‘Who’s that bad bitch in the mirror? Who is she? She is me, I want to be her.’

Accompanied by a video that effortlessly ties in her brat-punk imagery.

Cleary, the feminist rage anthems keep coming. Title track ‘Evil, Hate Filled Female’ takes the album to the next level. Initially, the soundscape sounds like effects, which is in fact creatively crafted drum fills, presenting as gunshots. Playing around with structure, opening with the catchy chorus, the energy builds and does not stop with an addictive tempo.

‘The Internet’ and ‘Finally See Me’ evidently play off of Delilah’s hip-hop influences. ‘The Internet’ cleverly utilises social media skits that allow Delilah to lyrically hit back. ‘Finally See Me’ is similar in genre and touches on personal experience that adds vulnerability.

‘My Girlz’ has groovy instrumentals and a focus on pop sounding vocals but with intensity. An important stand out, discussing sexual assault.

The more playful feminist fantasy comes through in ‘I Am The Best (Just Ask Your Momma)’ and ‘Freak Alert’. Adding to her empowerment for women and the LQBTQ+ community.

Closing the album is ‘Committed A Crime’, a witty and dynamic track that combines the genres and themes throughout the album tying it together effectively. Volatile comments and opinions are artfully included, leaving Delilah fearlessly able to stand up for herself and her art.

‘Evil, Hate Filled Female’ is loaded with feminine rage and sees Delilah Bon continue to define her stance and sound in the scene. More self assured and powerful than before this album comes with clear maturity. The album is loaded with layered instrumentals and boldly explores serious topics. The combination of genres and considered production are sure to be brought to life further when played live.

‘Evil, Hate Filled Female’ is out on the 13th September, be sure to check it out.
