HEADCASE, A Chaotic and Angsty New Single From NOAHFINNCE – Review

NOAHFINNCE has given us a taste of alt modern rock, with new single ‘HEADCASE’. This track will feature on the upcoming deluxe version of his debut album ‘Growing Up On The Internet’.

‘HEADCASE’ follows his most recent release  ‘PET WITH THE TISM’ in a notably different style but still with Noah’s impressive flair including personal experience that shines through in the lyrics.

Instantly, the electronic beat with low toned vocals captivates you. This fast tempo draws you into a forceful whispering before the chorus explodes. This build is addictive with strong drums and an even stronger riff to accompany the powerful vocals.

The mixing and production must be appreciated here, the panning and layered elements take the track to the next level.

The rap style verse continues before you’re hit with that chorus you just can’t get enough of. The bridge comes surprisingly, presenting as the beginning of a breakdown with a hard hitting bass drum and persistent riff. This section only adds to the dynamic nature of ‘HEADCASE’ before finally morphing into a bursting instrumental loaded with electronic elements.

The lyrics are moving, presenting the feeling of constantly feeling overwhelmed and the paranoia around being perceived by others, yet another striking element to the song.

This song seems to take influence from ‘Emo’ culture and could be for fans of bands such as Waterparks, specifically similar in sound to their song ‘Ritual’.

The instrumentals are cleverly immersive and clearly considered. This single transports you to a different head space, it’s angsty and chaotic. It perfectly represents a collection of thoughts that you imagine have easily poured onto a page. NOAHFINNCE has expertly created an emotive single, make sure to listen to ‘HEADCASE:

You can catch him on his upcoming U.K tour starting on November 5th in Southhampton and rounding off on November 13th in London. Tickets can be purchased on his website here.
