Kid Bookie ,from South London ,brought his unique mix of rap and metal to Burn It Down festival in The Foundry, Torquay on Saturday 31st August. He burst on stage with energy that the audience immediately responded to!
Kid Bookie performed ‘Liquor, Sex, Weed’ from his 2021 album ‘Cheaper Than Therapy’ which the audience knew all the words to. The set included the first few released songs ‘Scars’ and ‘AI’ from his album released on 13th September 2024, ‘Songs For The Living // Songs For The Dead’.
The brand new album called Songs For The Living // Songs For The Dead which was released in September 2024. The album consists of 10 songs but on Spotify and other streaming platforms could consist of 14 (a fair warning while streaming if you like to listen to your music on shuffle)
The album starts off strong with a mixture of both singing and rapping with a seamless flow of instruments which floats around the songs. I don’t know whether it was my choice to listen to this on YouTube music which divided some of the tracks up or if this was intentional but I found it odd with the sudden break from the song. If this wasn’t the case and was down to the streaming network I was using. The New album which is showing the new wave of nu-metal is a mixture of ballads and just the entire mixture of musical collections which does make this album quite a stand out album.
Song’s For The Living // Songs For The Dead does push out the new creative ideas and opens doors for future creations.
