On October 4, the Lisbon Tattoo Rock Fest 2024 was back at Lisboa ao Vivo for its 17th edition, and had a top-notch line-up to welcome the public, as well as a sensational poster, the event brought together tattoos, lectures, DJs and various other presentations.

With more than 200 tattoo artists from all over the world, the event featured the bands Mata Ratos, Discharge and Madball to kick off one of the most eagerly awaited events in Portugal.

Rat killer

Portugal's most infamous band opened the Lisbon Tattoo Rock Fest stage on the first night of the event.
And as the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin tells us, it only took the first chords for the public at the convention or in the various food trucks scattered around the festival to rush into the venue to hear the absolute classics of one of the most popular bands in the world.
influential in the Portuguese punk rock scene, songs like "És um homem ou és um rato", "Fado de um gajo imundo", "Sai da minha vida" and others were a good warm-up for what was to come?

Discharge

Then the classic English hardcore punk band Discharge came on stage and completely set the audience on fire. It's important to say that Jeff Janiak, the band's lead singer since 2014, has fit in like a glove with the band, especially when it comes to on-site concerts.
For around 60 minutes, the Englishmen unleashed atomic bombs such as "Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing", "New World Order", "Protest and Survive" and "The Nightmare Continues", sending an already composed LAV into total euphoria.

Madball

With a full house at 11:15 p.m., New York band Madball returned to the Portuguese stage and once again demonstrated the quartet's power and brutality, starting with the hallucinatory Freddy Cricien, one of the greatest frontmen around, feeding the audience with brutal energy.

At the moment, few bands can play after Madball, such is the delivery that the American band puts into their performances, songs like "Set It Off", "Born Strong", "New York City" and "For My Enemies" left everyone in room 1 of Lisboa ao Vivo melting and extremely satisfied on this first day, leaving the impression that an earthquake was felt in Portugal again at this moment.
