RØRY – Restoration opens up with ?If Pain Could Talk? and to me, it?s like we are hearing a conversation RØRY is having with her past self, telling herself that she?s allowed to heal & grow. Telling herself that just because things were one way doesn?t mean they cannot change for the better and to a better way.
The song ends with the lyric ?RØRY this is your story? and I feel like that perfectly describes the album. It is a story of RØRY, of who she was, how she became who she is now & all the fucked up chaos in between.

RØRY – Restoration: Track by Track

In the Bible?

  • Sound: The loud, punchy drumbeat & dynamic guitar riffs give the song a sense of urgency and intensity.
  • Mood/Feeling: A powerful and empowering anthem that makes listeners feel less alone. The sombre undertones balance the chant’s worthy & uplifting energy.
  • Similar To: The uplifting anthems of bands like Imagine Dragons or Florence + the Machine, with a touch of punk edge.
  • Criticism: While the message is impactful, the song?s intensity might overwhelm those seeking more melodic subtleties.
  • Overall Rating: 8.5/10 ? A cathartic, emotionally charged track encouraging resilience.

?Wolves?

  • Sound: The song features a driving, rhythmic beat that evokes comparisons to ?Zombie? by The Cranberries.
  • Mood/Feeling: Brooding and intense, yet lacks the punch needed to fully captivate.
  • Criticism: For me, this track feels like the weakest on the album. While it channels a powerful beat, it doesn?t stand out as much lyrically or emotionally compared to the other tracks.
  • Overall Rating: 6/10 ? A solid track, but overshadowed by stronger moments on the album.

?Hold On?

  • Sound: An unexpected rap breakdown adds a fresh, modern twist to the song. The flow of the rap blends seamlessly with the rest of the track.
  • Mood/Feeling: The combination of vulnerability and confidence makes it both relatable and energizing.
  • Criticism: The rap is bold, but it might divide listeners depending on their taste. It works well but could feel out of place for traditional fans.
  • Overall Rating: 7.5/10 ?A bold track with unique elements that keep it engaging.

?Blossom?

Blossom is one of my favourites of the album! It?s such a FUCK YOU song to absolutely belt out when life is just trying to rock you. Blossom is an empowering anthem of resilience and rebirth. The lyrics narrate a journey RØRY has been on, from despair to triumph. Where pain becomes the foundation for strength and growth. It?s a striking portrayal of overcoming betrayal, loss & the suffocating weight of addiction.

The opening lines, ?You buried me alive / You left me there to die,? immediately set a tone of anguish and injustice, pulling listeners into a dark & charged space. However, the defiant refrain ?Now you?re gonna watch me blossom? flips the narrative, turning what could have been a story of defeat into one of hope & renewal. The metaphor of breaking through dirt and blooming transforms a burial into a rebirth, creating a powerful duality between death & life, suffering & triumph.

Lyrically the song explores themes of anger, fear & survival with poetic finesse. Lines like, ?There are dark places here, they hold anger, they hold fear. But do not be afraid, for salvation is near,? offer a glimmer of light in the darkness, suggesting that even in the deepest pain, redemption is possible.

The closing lines, ?Pink flowers over your sky, I?ll tower over your lies,? deliver a poetic final blow to the oppressor, combining grace & strength. It?s a vivid image that leaves the listener with a sense of triumph & F U to anyone saying you won?t ever blossom.

?Sherlock Holmes?

  • Sound: The acoustic guitar introduction offers a refreshing change, giving the song a gentler, more reflective tone.
  • Mood/Feeling: Nostalgic and introspective, with a storytelling quality that feels intimate and personal.
  • Criticism: While the acoustic elements are beautiful, the song might feel too subdued for those expecting high energy.
  • Overall Rating: 8/10 ? A tender, heartfelt track that showcases RØRY versatility.

?One Drink Away?

  • Sound: Light, airy guitar work complements RØRY’s vocals, letting his emotional delivery shine.
  • Mood/Feeling: Honest and raw, with a deeply personal tone that tugs at the heartstrings. The lyric ?Who knew a wreck like me could be saved? is particularly striking, leaving a lasting impression.
  • Criticism: It?s an emotionally heavy track, which might not suit every mood, but its honesty is its strength.
  • Overall Rating: 8.5/10 ? A vulnerable, beautifully crafted song that leaves a deep emotional impact.

Morality Suicide:

?Morality Suicide? is a scathing, hard-hitting commentary on the state of the world. Blending thought-provoking lyricism with a raw sense of urgency. It?s a song that doesn?t hold back. Addressing issues like war, corruption, social injustice & environmental devastation with unflinching honesty.

The opening lines immediately establish the song?s critical tone: ?I think that maybe there?s a problem on this planet. When did war become our universal language.? This rhetorical question frames the song as a wake-up call, urging listeners to reflect on the grim realities of modern society.
RØRY’s ability to distil complex global issues into vivid, impactful phrases like ?They drop bombs and turn a hospital to ashes. That?s collateral damage? is both chilling and effective.

The chorus ?You took your faith and you burned it alive. You wrote your name in a phosphorus sky,? is a haunting critique of humanity?s moral collapse. The imagery of faith being destroyed and names written in destruction evokes the devastation of war. The refrain ?Morality suicide,? becomes a chilling mantra, underscoring the loss of ethical responsibility in the pursuit of power & profit.

In the verses, RØRY doesn?t shy away from calling out systemic failures. Lines like, ?Politicians funding wars with people?s taxes? & ?Big corporations putting poison in the water? highlight the exploitation and greed that fuel global crises. We need more artists to not be afraid to call out these issues & be that voice. The lyric ?It?s not genocide if it?s not on the news,? is particularly cutting, drawing attention to the selective outrage & media manipulation that shape public perception.

What makes ?Morality Suicide? so impactful is its fearless approach to tackling uncomfortable truths. RØRY doesn?t simply criticize. The song is also a rallying cry for awareness and accountability. It forces listeners to confront the atrocities happening in the world and question their role in systems of inequality & destruction.

In a world saturated with apathy ?Morality Suicide? stands out as a call to action. It?s a song that demands to be heard! Challenging both the powerful & the complacent. RØRY has crafted a piece that is as thought-provoking as it is emotionally charged.

?Sorry I?m Late?

?Sorry I?m Late? is my favourite song. It is an unfiltered, raw exploration of the struggles, regrets & redemptive realizations that come with navigating a chaotic life. It?s a deeply personal song that RØRY has managed to balance vulnerability so well with a hard-earned sense of resilience.

The song opens with a reflective tone, as RØRY confronts the societal pressures and expectations of aging. Lines like, ?They write you off as if you?re nothing. But you know you?re something,? highlight the defiance of someone who refuses to be dismissed. This narrative feels universal, speaking to anyone who has ever felt behind in life or judged for their journey.

The chorus is the emotional core of the track, unapologetically laying bare a series of deeply personal confessions: ?Sorry I?m late, I fucked my life. Sorry I?m late, my mum just died. Sorry I?m late, I got too high. Been busy trying to stay alive.? RØRY doesn?t hold back, offering a brutally honest glimpse into grief, self-destruction & survival. These confessions are delivered with a mix of shame & defiance capturing the messy, nonlinear process of healing.

Musically, the structure of the song mirrors its emotional journey. The verses build slowly, allowing the weight of the lyrics to sink in while the chorus erupts with raw intensity. This dynamic shift mirrors the highs and lows of RØRY’s experiences, amplifying the emotional impact of the lyrics.

In the second verse, RØRY turns the narrative toward hope, offering a promise that things can get better. Lines like, ?When you think it?s over. And you think you lost it. But it?s still right here if you want it,? suggest that redemption is always within reach, even in the darkest moments. This shift gives the song a sense of balance, acknowledging the pain while pointing toward the possibility of growth.

?Did I let my whole life pass me by Or am I right on fucking time,? is a poignant reflection on life?s unpredictability & the pressure to meet arbitrary milestones. It?s a relatable moment that resonates with us all who?ve struggled with self-doubt, reminding us that life isn?t about perfect timing. It?s about perseverance. I am not someone to shy away from the fact I have also been incredibly stressed over ?not meeting milestones? or having ?XYZ achieved by the time I?m 30? and hearing this song brought a lot of comfort to me, knowing I?m not alone and it made me think of it in a different light, maybe I am right on time?

Overall, ?Sorry I?m Late? is a powerful, brutally honest track that captures the messy, painful & beautiful aspects of being human. RØRY raw delivery and poetic lyrics make it a song that will resonate deeply with anyone who has faced hardship, a tough hand growing up, self-doubt, or the challenge of finding their way in an often unforgiving world.

Atheist

The album ends with the song The Atheist. In this song, RØRY says the line ? This is me letting you go. Tearing you out of my soul? & I feel like this is a final note to who RØRY used to be, a final goodbye to the person who used to be holding her back & now we can watch RØRY blossom. It has been a pleasure to watch RØRY realise her talent and run with it. From her 1st TikTok video I saw back in 2021 of the song Psychology War a full-on debate album! 2025 better watch out!
