At just over forty years old the Brits of Tokyo Blade have just released their tenth studio album, entitled Fury.
There is no doubt that Tokyo Blade has been carrying the NWOBHM flag during these forty years, and the most amazing thing about Fury is that we are talking about an album with fifteen songs that lasts a little more than one hour and twenty minutes and that never sounds tired or cloying, the creative level of both the lyric part and the sound of the Englishmen is impressive, intense, captivating, fun, we have here a real lesson of how to make a Heavy Metal album. Alan Marsh keeps singing a lot, and showing that he sounds better album after album, the guitar work of the duo Andy Boulton and John Wiggins is amazing, powerful riffs and perfectly elaborated solos are one of the many high points of Fury.
Tokyo Blade is a little talked about band, little remembered and very underrated, for those who think that the peak of the guys was only in the first two albums, are sorely mistaken, Fury will certainly be one of the best albums of this year. Long live Tokyo Blade!
