A joke from a 1996 episode of “The Simpsons” is about to become a reality as hip-hop legends Cypress Hill announce a collaborative concert with the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO). This unique performance will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on July 10, 2024.
The iconic Californian hip-hop group, composed of B-Real, Sen Dog, and Eric Bobo, first appeared with the LSO in the episode “Homerpalooza” of “The Simpsons.” In this episode, Homer Simpson takes his children to a music festival, where a staff member humorously asks, “Who ordered the London Symphony Orchestra, possibly while high? Cypress Hill, I’m looking in your direction.” This leads to the fictional performance of their hit “Insane in the Brain” with the orchestra.
Cypress Hill expressed their excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra in such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall. It?s a dream come true, a collaboration only ‘The Simpsons’ could have predicted.”
