Europe at Rock in Rio Lisboa 2024

Ah these wonderful Swedes, the Europe is one of those bands that perfectly match the aura and vibe of a festival like Rock in Rio I was a beginner on a day as hard rocking as the 15th.

At 9:15 p.m. Lisbon time, on a completely packed Galp Stage, Europe, led by charismatic frontman Joey Tempest, gave most of the audience present on the 15th the best show of the day! Playing hits that got the band off the ground in the 80s, such as "On Broken Wings", "Rock the Night" and "Scream of Anger", they warmed up the atmosphere in Parque do Tejo, which was already starting to drop. They then warmed the hearts of all their fans with the unforgettable romantic ballad "Carrie" with a chorus to make many bands jealous.

It's important to say that the band, which in addition to Tempesta also includes another founding member, the brilliant guitarist John Norum, put on a show, as did the rest of the band members, who demonstrated a rapport and harmony above normal. "Supertitious" is a clear example of this harmony, especially when they sang a version of Bob Marley's "No Woman no Cry". At the end, of course, there were two powerhouses, first the great "Cherokee" and then ?The Final Countdown?, the big hit of 1986, which was reserved for the end of the show, and what an apotheotic, euphoric finale that was worth the ticket!
