Photographing McFly?s 21st birthday celebration at the O2 Arena was nothing short of an honor. The band marked this milestone with a performance that felt as fresh as the day they started but with the warmth and wisdom of seasoned rockers. From the moment they took the stage, it was clear they were here not only to celebrate their journey but also to give back to us fans who?ve stood by them over the years!
Kicking off the night with classics like ?Five Colors in Her Hair? and ?Obviously?, McFly had the crowd singing every word, transporting us all back to the early 2000s. The energy was infectious ? you could feel from the audience as they bounced along, and it was a photographer?s dream to capture such raw emotion. The lighting design was spectacular, adding an extra punch to each beat.
McFly also treated us to some of their newer tracks, showing just how much they?ve evolved musically. Yet, they?ve retained that unique, feel-good sound that makes every show feel like a celebration. Highlights included a heartfelt acoustic segment where the band reminisced about their journey, connecting with the audience on a personal level. It was the kind of moment that made capturing the crowd?s teary-eyed smiles an absolute joy.
The night closed with ?All About You, & The Heart Never Lises? bringing everyone together for the end of an incredible evening. It was a fitting end to a concert that celebrated not only the band?s past 21 years but also the bond they?ve built with their fans. Photographing a night like this ? filled with so much love, nostalgia, and high energy. It was a reminder of why McFly continues to be a beloved part of the music scene. And one of my favorite bands.., Here?s to many more years of McFly magic!
