We went to the show of the most recent tour of Steve Von Till, vocalist and guitarist of the band Neurosis for his solo project, where he presented songs from his 2 most recent albums.
Von Till was accompanied by Dave French on synths, guitars and percuss; Braden Diotte on organ and modular synths; and PJ Van Assche on double bass.
The gig was held at St John's Church in Bethnal Green, East London, and it couldn't have been a better venue: the 300-capacity church created an intimate atmosphere for everyone which combined with the acoustics of the venue, further amplified the melancholy and depth of the lyrics and sounds.
In addition to the songs, Von Till also read some poems from his book Harvestman: Collected Lyrics and Poems.
Overall, as expected it was a moving show, almost generating a trance among the audience, highlighting Steve Von Till's mastery as a composer and interpreter.
It was definitely a unique show that we would like to see in churches around the world!
