On the 22nd of July, the Mexican rock band The Warning played an exclusive and intimate concert at the Crate Brewery in Hackney as part of a Sofar Sounds event. As per Sofar events go, this was not the usual rock concert, so guests sat on the floor on pillows in a very cozy environment, and the artists played stripped-down and acoustic versions.

Sofar is known for promoting great artists from all around the world and also supporting local talents. We counted with the support of Reya and the southeast Londoner Ouraa.

Reya

Starting off with Reya, born in Norway, raised in Spain, of Chilean heritage, and now currently in London, she brought her roots to the core of her music, singing in English and Spanish with deep lyrics and a beautiful voice accompanied by a guitar, ending with a ukulele. It was quite an emotional and engaging start to the night. The interaction with the crowd was also great, with friendly banter and requests for crowd participation.

Ouraa

Right after the 10-minute beer/water break, it was time for Ouraa and her band to start, bringing an interesting fusion of pop, gospel, and R&B with such a beautiful voice, accompanied by two backing vocals, piano, snare drum, and bass. The interaction with the crowd was even more active, with fun jokes, and they finished with the funny but great song ?Beans on Toast.?

The Warning

Then it was time for the main attraction, where the three artists from Monterrey, Mexico, Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra, started preparing and gave a quick introduction, mentioning that they?re not used to playing those stripped-down songs and that it was a first. This was a great opportunity for the almost 80 people eagerly waiting for them. It was a great opportunity to also play some of the new songs from their most recent album, ?Keep me Fed,? released not even a month ago. They started with the hits ?SICK? and ?MORE,? followed by ?Burnout.?

All songs were beautifully played, highlighting the sheer talent of all three members and making the fans eager to see more acoustic versions of their songs. After that, they played one of their songs in Spanish, ?Qu Más Quieres,? and ended with the great ?Escapism.? It was definitely a unique night, thanks to Sofar Sounds and the artists invited, ensuring that everyone attending will have great memories and will definitely want more from them.
