Tom Morello (+ Alt BLK ERA & Thomas Raggi from Måneskin) at Electric Ballroom

Tom Morello lit up the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, London, on June 13 with an unforgettable show. This packed solo gig set the stage for his appearance at the Download Festival on June 15.

ALT BLK ERA

Before Tom got to the stage, we had the great duo ALT BLK ERA, Nyrobi and Chaya, bringing an intriguing, genre-bending mix and incredible visuals. They entered the stage in great white clothing that created a great contrast with the dark venue and great lights that night.

Their engagement with the crowd was great, which was no small feat considering that the crowd was mostly there for Tom, which was even more proof of their talent.

Morello started the night with ?Soldier in the Army of Love? and ?Vigilante Nocturno,? firing up the crowd with his well-known slogan-covered guitars. Fans went wild as he launched into the first Rage Against The Machine medley, mixing some of his most famous riffs.

The surprise guest that Tom had announced previously was Måneskin guitarist Thomas Raggi joined Morello which joined to play ?Gossip? together and then played a high-energy cover of MC5?s ?Kick Out The Jams.? Raggi?s presence added an extra spark to the performance.

The show featured a mix of Morello?s solo work and covers, including a powerful take on Bruce Springsteen?s ?The Ghost Of Tom Joad? and his collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon, ?Let?s Get The Party Started.? The setlist was like a musical biography, with songs from Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, and his projects.

In a touching change of pace, Morello and his band gathered for a short acoustic set. This shift showed off Morello?s depth as a performer.

The gig ended with a bang as Morello played a second Rage medley. Hits like ?Bombtrack,? ?Know Your Enemy,? and ?Bulls on Parade? had the crowd going nuts. During ?Killing in the Name,? the whole place turned into one big mosh pit, with everyone shouting out the lyrics. He wrapped up the night with John Lennon?s ?Power to the People,? weaving in political statements and flipping his guitar to reveal ?Ceasefire? on the back.

Tom Morello?s show at the Electric Ballroom was a masterclass in musicianship and showmanship. He mixed fan favourites with unexpected twists, capturing the spirit of his entire career and leaving the audience buzzing for more.
