Vocalist Mishkin Fitzgerald comments, “‘Flinch’ is about the end of the world. As humanity, we are heading towards mass extinction due to our own choices and it often feels like nothing can stop it.”
Flinch is something different for thoughtful listeners: it's dualistic music that moves effortlessly between aggression and euphoria. It opens with a classical string quartet arranged by Hana PiranhaIt's a very catchy song, drawing the listener in before exploding into atonal guitar riffs, accompanied by deep death metal gutturals. At the opposite end of the genre spectrum, the music unravels into dreamlike soundscapes and eventually culminates in a glorious guitar solo by Garry Mitchell. Tasty, pulsating batteries of Anna Mylee perfectly lead the audience through this musical labyrinth, while Fitzgerald alternates between soft ethereal vocals and deep gutturals.
