DEFECTS 'Modern Error' Album Release shows

Defects have announced three special concerts around the release of their debut album, Modern Error. They will perform at The Old Blue Last in London on May 28, Asylum 2 in Birmingham on May 30 and Satans Hollow in Manchester on May 31.. You can buy tickets HERE.

His deeply personal debut album, Modern Errorwill be launched in May 24th by Mascot Records. They have already revealed the videos of Broken Bloodlines, Lockdown e Modern Error of the album. You can pre-order HERE.

Modern Error is gut-wrenchingly raw in emotion. Conceptually, it's a deeply cathartic album that acts as a vessel for singer Tony Maue to organize his thoughts on the trauma of being taken into care at a young age. Throughout the album are Maue's experiences, how the five band members are connected and why right now, right now, is the right time for this band to exist. For themselves as much as for anyone else.

Last month, they wrapped up a thrilling European tour with Orbit Culture, who went on to tear through Europe at the end of 2023 with Of Mice & Men. The band delivered crushing sets at breakneck speed. Their headline shows give fans the chance to see the band in all their fiery glory. They will also be joining Of Mice & Men for more dates and will be playing the Download festival this summer.

Modern Error crushes equally and paints a poignant message about the way the world is going. Lockdown captures mental challenges, and Broken Bloodlines focuses on leaving behind negative forces in your life.

Há uma razão para o álbum ter temas tão pessoais. ?Eu uso a composição de músicas como uma ferramenta para desabafar em vez de ser poético?, explica Maue. Ele foi levado para cuidados desde jovem, e esse trauma e as experiências que se seguiram são algo com que ele tem lutado desde então. ?As memórias traumáticas de ir para cuidados, perder minha família quando era muito jovem e ter que lidar com isso e me ajustar a esse tipo de estilo de vida, na época foi brutal. A única coisa que me ajudou, e não estou apenas dizendo isso, foi a música.?

Todos os cinco membros têm suas histórias ? Tony Maue (Vocal), Luke Genders (Guitarra), James Threadwell (Guitarra), David Silver (Baixo) e Harry Jennings (Bateria) ? e o álbum atinge com a pesadez e agressividade de Lamb Of God e Machine Head, um senso de melodia semelhante ao Linkin Park e um toque de ousadia do Bring Me The Horizon. Apesar de seu conteúdo pesado, ele queima com vitalidade, poder, paixão e entrelaçado está o ponto de vista deles sobre o mundo.

Voltar ao palco para sua primeira turnê foi um momento colossal para a banda. ?Foi avassalador?, lembra Maue. ?Em Southampton com In Flames, saí do palco e desabei. Eu estava chorando porque estava feliz. Não consigo acreditar que me deram outra chance de fazer isso. Não apenas isso, eu não conseguia acreditar que todos estavam curtindo o que estávamos fazendo.?

O que os Defects representam? É sobre acreditar em si mesmo. É uma mensagem para as pessoas se darem uma pausa de vez em quando. Jennings comenta. ?Tudo bem ter dias ruins. Eu tive minha parcela muito recentemente. Mas, sabe, todo mundo pode se levantar, e dizer, eu vou fazer o meu.?

?Eu me senti como se não valesse nada?, acrescenta Maue. ?Mas agora olho para trás, e isso estava errado; não deveriam ter me feito sentir assim. Quando fiquei mais velho, percebi que era uma boa pessoa e não fiz nada de errado. Coisas ruins acontecem com pessoas boas, e você deve encontrar uma maneira de tornar a vida valiosa.?

They are riding a triumphant wave, following their European tours with Orbit Culture and Of Mice & Men, and as they move on to their headline shows, it gives fans the chance to see them ahead of the summer festivals and their appearance at this year's Download festival. They've added these shows to their already impressive live repertoire, which includes performances with Bullet for My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend and In Flames, as well as performances at festivals such as Bloodstock, 2000Trees and The Great Escape. They continue to progress through the year with slots at festivals such as Download (UK), Graspop (BE), Rockharz (DE) and Rock The Lakes (CH).
