Lake Malice has released a winter music video for its new single ?Eternal December? ??

The alternative metal duo Lake MaliceBrighton-based Malice have released the suitably wintry music video for their latest single, 'Eternal December'. Blake Cornwall and Alice Guala, the creators behind Malice, say:

"For this video, we wanted to convey a sense of loneliness and isolation common in the winter months. We took seasonal depression to a visual extreme, where things and bodies start to freeze over time."

The track has already featured in the Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock charts. Dealing with deep emotions of homesickness and seasonal depression, 'Eternal December' is inspired by vocalist Guala's experience of moving to another country and having to rebuild meaningful connections in a place that can sometimes feel like an "Eternal December". Guala and Cornwall say: "We wrote this song in the winter months, when the rain wouldn't stop and we barely saw the sun. It sounds like something everyone can relate to on some level. Our aim has always been to avoid limitations on where we take our music, and we're extremely proud of this multilayered composition that incorporates elements of EDM, hyperpop and metalcore."

Lake Malice have just embarked on their first UK tour. The 12 dates across the country will feature London metal band TheCityIsOurs, Leeds electronic-influenced band Artio and Herts power trio High Regard. Tickets are on sale now. In 2023, Lake Malice's powerful live presence set stages alight across Europe alongside bands such as As Everything Unfolds, Bloodywood, Skindred, Vukovi, Vended and Enter Shikari. They've also captivated crowds at festivals such as The Great Escape, Download, Misery Loves Company and 2000trees, where Kerrang! proclaimed that they "have no right to be so hot so soon".

Lake Malice's debut EP, entitled 'Post-Genesis', was recently released by SO Recordings. The EP brings together a series of killer singles from the duo. They have utilized their supreme songwriting skills, exploring various themes - social anxiety in a post-pandemic world ('Stop The Party'), toxic codependency in relationships ('Black Turbine'), the complexity of family values ('Mitsuko') and people who abuse their power ('Power Game'). Lake Malice's intense and unique blend of hyperpop and metal has already earned them two nominations at the Heavy Music Awards, and their recent singles have appeared regularly on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, as well as in the Kerrang! and Metal Hammer charts. They've also been on the cover of Spotify's mega playlist 'misfits 2.0' and secured a coveted spot on the New Music Friday UK playlist, among many other streaming platforms.
