PATRIARKH Announces New Album and UK Tour

Polish icons PATRIARKH, formerly known as Batushka, are set to release their new concept album, ?????? ???? (PROROK ILJA), on January 3, 2025, through Napalm Records. This album delves into the story of Eliasz Klimowicz, also known as Prophet Ilja, during the 1930s and 40s. Building on the success of their previous album, Hospodi (2019), PATRIARKH combines Eastern Orthodox traditions with black and doom metal, creating a unique and haunting sound.

The band has unveiled the first single, ????????? III? (WIERSZALIN III), along with an impressive music video capturing an Orthodox mass. This single showcases PATRIARKH?s fusion of Orthodox sacredness, melodic folk instruments, and powerful doom metal elements, creating a captivating sonic experience.

Currently on their Epic Prophecy For Europe tour, PATRIARKH is making their way through the UK with upcoming shows in Belfast, Glasgow, Sheffield, Birmingham, London, Milton Keynes, and various locations in the Netherlands.

?????? ???? narrates the true story of Prophet Ilja in the band?s hometown of Podlasie, featuring a blend of folk instruments and symphonic elements. The album, recorded in various studios, marks a new chapter for the band, showcasing their musical evolution and experimentation with different genres.

Lead vocalist ??????????? expresses, ??????? ???? is an album full of emotions, sentimentalism, and folklore, reflecting the multicolored essence of Podlasie.? The album?s lyrical content combines theatre, pastoralism, and various languages, including Polish for the first time.
