German alternative outfit SEVEN BLOOD have released their new single ?Monsters? along with its music video. The song was produced by Anfy Hartmann, mixed by Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Holding Absence, Bury Tomorrow), and mastered by Dick Beetham.
?Monsters? is the latest release from the band, following their previous singles ?As We Bleed?, ?House ? Home?, and their debut release ?Killing From The Inside?. The song is a heavy and technical mix of SEVEN BLOOD?s influences, drawing from the likes of Architects and Bring Me The Horizon to produce a hard-hitting gut-punch of a musical piece as exploring the depths of what one perceives to be a monster, and in dealing with them at the risk of being overcome and becoming that which they fear most.
A deeply personal song to vocalist Azaria Nasiri, ?Monsters? ?[is] about the demons that haunt you and pull you down in dark moments. It?s a song that for me is about what it means to be haunted by depression, but I think everyone will be able to relate to the monsters hiding in their own story.?
The song is particularly cutting for guitarist Oli Arnold, who reveals a tragedy from his past that has shaped his life. ?When I was thirteen years old, my best friend died very suddenly. The tragedy of that moment has shaped my life more than any other. I began suffering from panic attacks, and my parents weren?t capable of handling that situation. For a long time, I didn?t feel connected to people. My childhood ended that day. It?s only now that I?m really able to begin to process that experience and to write about its impact on me.?
A journey as emotional as it is sonically gratifying, ?Monsters? at once grounds its listeners with the thematic exploration of the dark parts of life and experience that bind us all together in untold, and incommunicable ways, but which prove cathartic in their audible realisation to the listener. SEVEN BLOOD remain a rare talent that capture their audience by piquing interest with their entrenching sound and thus reap the souls of their audience with their undeniably powerful rhetoric and messages about the human experience.
SEVEN BLOOD are set to support Ankor on their UK and EU tour in February. Their tour dates are as follows:
