Crimson Veil is set to hit the road later this month, joining industrial legends Combichrist on an extensive European tour. With dates spanning multiple countries, this run offers fans across the continent the chance to witness the band’s captivating and genre-defying live show.
Fusing death growls with ethereal soundscapes and elements of progressive rock, Crimson Veil has been turning heads with their innovative approach to metal.
Formed by members of the former band Birdeatsbaby, the group brings a wealth of experience and artistry to their new project. While in Birdeatsbaby, they collaborated with producers like Paul Reeve (Muse) and John Fryer (Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails), and had music featured in the Channel 4 thriller Close to Me, starring Connie Nielsen and Christopher Eccleston. Their work was praised by publications including Orkus and Prog. Now, with Crimson Veil, they dive deeper into the realms of alternative and progressive metal, bringing a rich visual and sonic aesthetic that challenges the conventions of the genre.
Fronted by classically trained vocalist Mishkin Fitzgerald—whose early influences include hymns, classical compositions, and later, rock and metal, the band’s core was formed when she met guitarist and bassist Garry Mitchell at university in Brighton. The pair’s shared passion for dark, progressive sounds laid the foundation for what would become Crimson Veil. They were later joined by Hana Piranha on violin, cello, and harp, and powerhouse drummer Anna Mylee, forming a formidable four-piece of multi-instrumentalists.
The band made their live debut supporting Lordi on the Unliving Pictour Show, making a bold impression with a stage presence that blends divine symbolism with dark theatrics. Performing amidst a backdrop of flowers, thorns, and animal skulls, Crimson Veil have been described as “ritualistic, even shamanic,” offering a live experience that’s both haunting and hypnotic.
With their debut album on the horizon, Crimson Veil are ready to pull audiences into their otherworldly realm—where beauty and brutality meet.
