Two years after playing for a sold out Electric Ballroom, Indian folk metal sensation Bloodywood is back in London, once again playing for a sold out crowd, now at the O2 Forum Kentish Town.
The night kicked off with another Indian band. Hailing from Mumbai, Demonic Resurrection warmed up the crowd with their heavy mix of old school death metal and symphonic metal. Following up, UK-based power trio Calva Louise, which will be releasing a new album later this year, dazzled the audience with their heavy take on alternative metal. Drawing influences from electronic, heavy metal and even latin music, this is definitely an act to keep an eye on.
Finally, Bloodywood. Led by rap vocals from Raoul Kerr and growls from Jayant Bhadula, this incredible act also brings a dhol to stage (and to the crowd). to create their unique sound. It is impossible not to headbang or even dance as soon as they enter the stage, playing an intro followed by the powerful, politically charged Dana-Dan.
Alternating between songs of the newly released “Nu Dehli” and their debut album, it was a set that could have been longer, but it was more than enough to please both old and new fans.
