Bowling For Soup Ft Wheatus and Magnolia Park at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham 13-2-2025

Tonight at Bowling For Soup in Nottingham Motorpoint Arena fans have gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “The Hangover You Don’t Deserve” album. With support coming from long time friends Wheatus and Magnolia Park. Kicking off the evening is a DJ set from Jon Mahon with the arena filling up the audience singing along to Blink 182, Punk Rock Factory, Weezer, Greenway, and many more. It kept the pre-party moving with reminders to purchase tickets for Bowling For Soups Wembley which features long-time friends Wheatus and Punk Rock Factory.

Magnolia Park

Magnolia Park starts there edgy rock sound that fits the evening rather well their full young and bouncy energy fits in very well. They get the arena up and jumping  “10 for 10” written about the bad luck of fellow bandmate John car has the blue-lit audience swaying. Opening up for crowd surfers and a split the pit for a moshpit. To quote an audience member “they were so fucking good”. They truly captured the crowd and walked off stage with a few new fans!

Magnolia Park Setlist

Venue: Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham

Set:

  1. Misfits
  2. Do Or Die
  3. Crave
  4. I2I

  6. 10 for 10

Wheatus

Wheatus do fit alongside their friends bowling for soup very well, Slotting in as the main slot of the evening. They have fun with their short but sweet set. Throughout their entire set, they get everybody singing back and moving along, Wheatus humor between each other and with the audience.  I don’t think we even need to talk about how much of a fan favorite “Teenage Dirtbag” is but there is something truly special if you have never seen Wheatus before and hearing thousands of fans singing word for word back of the song! Wheatus is returning to the UK later in the year for their headline tour!

Bowling For Soup

It’s time for Bowling for Soup to take to the stage celebrating 20 years of “A Hangover You Don’t Deserve” in its full glory. Kicking off at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena tonight with their second biggest-ever UK show with a large backlit TV screen playing the BFS Theme Song which quickly gets the crowd up and chanting as the band walks on stage. The band moves to ‘Almost’ which gets the arena singing along while the large background screen shows videos of clips from the 30-year history of Bowling For Soups Life and videos. With a quick break after “Trucker Hat” while the confit canons were loaded up we kicked in to “1985” while the audience danced in a sea of yellow. Fans of Bowling For Soup sang back every lyric. You could see families who had brought their young children for their first show having the time of their lives while dancing along to other songs from “A Hangover You Don’t Deserve” album such as “Ohio (Come Back to Texas)”, “Two-Seater” and “Friends O’Mine” which recently has had a music video release for it. During the set “Life After Lisa” was chosen by an audience member during Spin The Wheel. No matter how many times I have personally seen Bowling For Soup over the years they never stop impressing me and you know you’re always gonna have a fun time at one of their show!
