Defences ft Crushed By Waves, Starved and Lia Rye at The Packhorse Leeds 2-2-2025

It’s sunday night above The Packhorse in Leeds where Defences are set to play their final night of tour. Supporting Defences are Manchester’s own Crushed By Waves, Steppers Hardcore band Starved and Leeds local Lia Rye!

Lia Rye

The four-piece kicks off their loud set. They sound one point and even slightly jazzy at times during their rock set, at times sounding like spoken word. Their fun and upbeat set is a spectacular kick-off for the evening. Lead singer Lia Rye Introduces her band before kicking off for the final song of her set.

Starved

When Starved takes to the stage, their loud, hard, bouncy personalities shine through, and the crowd is automatically pulled forward under their control. Making the entire crowd clap and sing along. Their fun set is powerful and captivating.

Crushed By Waves

Crushed by waves always bring energy and passion to their live performance. Having last seen them opening in Leeds Stylus for a sold-out Punk Rock Factory show. I was looking forward to the smaller more intermittent gig with them. They are fun to watch and love interacting with their audience. The stage can’t contain them getting involved with the crowd getting the audience to bounce around with them. No matter what venue they play it’s always gonna be a party with Crushed By Waves.

Defences

Having heard a lot of amazing reviews from the defences shows from the previous week. Defenses take to the stage for their final night of tour! And they smashed it. The small Packhorse venue was full with the floor even shaking at times with fans clapping and jumping along. With their new album Shadowlight out now, The band produces a flawless set which was the perfect ending to their tour.
