On october 30th, the Faces of Death Tour brought up the best of Deathcore to Scala, in London!
To the Grave took on the challenge of being the opening act on the Faces of Death tour, and they smashed it. Right from the start, they had the crowd jumping and moving—a job that’s no small task for an opener. Their intense energy and relentless sound set the tone for the night, delivering a musically tight performance and unapologetically powerful performance.
Frontman Dane came out on stage in an incredibly striking pig mask, a haunting visual that immediately caught the audience’s attention. This bold choice amplified the band’s message on animal rights and veganism, as seen in their album Everyone’s a Murderer. The mask served as a chilling reminder of the issues they advocate for, making their music resonate on a deeper, more impactful level.
Venue: Scala, London
Varials followed with a fierce set, and their lead singer’s standout hair added to their stage presence. Although I missed Heart of a Coward’s performance due to a chance to interview the members of To the Grave, the word was they kept the energy high and prepared the crowd for the night’s climax.
Venue: Scala, London
The main act, Signs of the Swarm, took the stage and delivered a crushing, dark performance that left the room buzzing with adrenaline. Their sound was relentless, with brutal breakdowns and intense growls that had fans headbanging, moshing, and even crowd-surfing with uncontainable energy. Signs of the Swarm brought a powerful close to the evening, proving why they’re a standout in the deathcore scene.
Venue: Scala, London
But it was To the Grave’s commanding presence set the night on fire, showing they’re more than just an opening band. They’re a force with a message and here to make waves.
