Infected Rain: Tuska Festival 2024

Amidst the pulsating energy of TUSKA 2024, Moldova’s own Infected Rain took to the Radio City stage with an electrifying presence that had eluded me for far too long. As a music photographer, capturing their dynamic performance had been a long-standing ambition, and finally witnessing them live surpassed all expectations.

Infected Rain’s music is a potent fusion of nu-metal, metalcore, and alternative metal, anchored by heavy guitar riffs and the commanding vocals of Lena Scissorhands. From the moment they unleashed their first chords, the tented confines of the Radio City stage reverberated with raw intensity, perfectly suited to their explosive style.

For a band known for their relentless touring and formidable stage presence, experiencing them firsthand was a revelation. The energy emanating from the stage was palpable, driving the audience into a frenzy that matched the band’s ferocity note for note.

Photographing Infected Rain proved to be a highlight of the festival for me. Their performance not only fulfilled my expectations but also delivered some of the most captivating shots I had captured throughout TUSKA 2024. Each image encapsulated the band’s visceral energy and emotional depth, making the experience both professionally and personally rewarding.

Infected Rain’s lyrics delve deep into personal struggles and societal issues, delivered with a sincerity that resonates profoundly. Tracks like “Mold” and “Passerby” showcased their ability to blend aggression with melodic intricacy, leaving a lasting impression on everyone within earshot.

As their set drew to a close, Infected Rain left an indelible mark on TUSKA 2024, reaffirming their status as a powerhouse in the modern metal scene. Their performance was a testament to their evolution and growth, solidifying their place among the festival’s standout acts and cementing my admiration for their music and artistry.
