Fresh off a stunning performance at this year’s Download Festival, it was London’s turn to witness the legendary Jerry Cantrell and his band. Judging by the mood outside of O2 Forum Kentish Town, you can feel this is a moment that fans are really looking forward to.
As the venue starts to get packed, the Australian death-pop duo Vowws kicked things off, bringing gothic vibes and a groovy blend of synth rock and new wave. Think a modern version of Depeche Mode that is slightly heavier but that you can still dance to.
Later this year they will be releasing their third album, “I’ll fill your house with an army”, and judging by their incredible performance, this is a release I’m really looking forward to.
When the first riffs of the iconic Psychotic Break rang out, and Jerry Cantrell took the stage, everyone knows they’re in for a treat. Greg Puciato is handling vocals in this tour, and when both him and Jerry go through classics such as “Them Bones” and “Man in a Box”, that’s when you can really hear the roar of the crowd.
They’re touring Jerry’s latest album, the acclaimed “I Want Blood”, and fan favourites from this album such as “Vilified” and “Afterglow” also brings great response from the audience.
And what better way to close the night than with the classic “Rooster”, which makes the entire Forum sing together.
