Kelsy Karter and The Heroines put on one hell of a show the other night in Norwich, showing the true spirit of Rock & Roll!
Archy & The Astronauts
First off was Archy & The Astronauts, an Alternative Rock trio, performing upbeat and catchy hits with strong riffs, funky basslines, and really good stage presence. You could hear their metal and Punk Rock influences throughout their songs mixed with more hard-hitting riffs and alternative pop beats. I thoroughly enjoyed their set and look forward to seeing them again!
Kelsy Karter and The Heroines
Next up was Kelsy Karter with her backing band, The Heroines, showcasing their latest album ‘Love Made Me Do It’. Their stage presence was insane from the get-go with Kelsy Karter starting on keys for ‘Are You Entertained?’, leading into ‘I Get Off’ and ‘Goodness Gracious’ before playing one of my favourites ‘Daughter of the Night’.
Throughout this album, Kelsy Karter displays how much she wears her heart on her sleeve and embraces all her insecurities and emotions. It is a true reflection of who she is as a person and a showcase of the real Rock & Roll lifestyle she leads, while allowing herself to be open and vulnerable and create anthems to help others face their feelings, too.
They then picked up the pace with ‘Laser to the Heart’, ‘Hotel Flamingo’ and ‘Love Goes On’ before slowing down with a stripped-back acoustic cover of ‘Superdream’. She had the whole crowd singing along to a cover of Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Holding out for a Hero’.
Kelsy Karter displays her insane vocal range throughout the whole evening, I was blown away by all the high notes! She also spent about as much time singing in the crowd, making sure everyone got involved and had fun, as she did on stage throughout the evening!
We got a Rock & Roll and Comedy show in one, due to a few technical difficulties but they did an amazing job keeping everyone entertained while they sorted it out, even passing out roses to show her dedicated fans how much she appreciates them!
They finished the show on a high with the ultimate Rock & Roll anthems ‘Lightning in a Bottle’, ‘Devil On My Shoulder’ and ‘Liquor Store on Mars’. I’ve waited years to see them live and they certainly didn’t disappoint! I highly recommend catching them on their upcoming dates if you can!
