After playing at Download, it was time for Kittie to come to London, on a hot Sunday, also Father’s Day, so we were not expecting to see the queue we saw waiting for the show on the night, for a sold-out show.
Holy Wars
The gig counted with support from Holy Wars, which started the night just great, with Kat Leon dominating the crowd and stage with her presence, from a range of faces, poses and screams, we were off to a great start. The set felt short with only half an hour, as the crowd kept getting increasingly excited, moshing, and even jumping onto the stage. One of the night’s highlights for us was at the encore, when Kat decided to jump in the middle of the crowd and start another mosh pit. The band was incredibly consistent and for sure was a perfect match for Kittie, and we’re looking forward to their future headline concerts around the world!

Kittie: way more than a comeback
After recently releasing their new album “Fire” and a great set at Download, the crowd was anxiously waiting, and every time the members entered the stage even during setup, we could hear roars from almost the whole venue, and of course when they entered, it was already for a hot entrance with the song from the same name “Fire”, perfectly fitting for the night, as The Dome’s fans started to struggle with the heat.
Morgan and Mercedes Lander were as expected, hitting every note, from the heavy drums to the growls, leaving nobody still, and they were more than complimented by the great Tara Mcleod on the guitars, interacting with the crowd at every minute, and Ivana Jenkins on the bass, headbanging and also whipping her hair around. Their setup works perfectly.

Five songs in, the band finally paused to speak, but barely — this was a set designed to hit and keep hitting. Older tracks like Spit and Mouthful of Poison blended perfectly with new cuts like We Are Shadows, showing just how well the band has bridged old and new. Mercedes Lander’s drumming was relentless, while Ivy Jenkins’ basswork rumbled through the floor. The crowd celebrated her birthday with a round of “Happy Birthday” and a Jäger shot before diving right back into the chaos.
The setlist was packed, with songs ranging classics such as “Charlotte” from their 2000 album “Spit”, “Sorrow I know”, “Severed” to more of the songs from their latest album: “One Foot in the Grave”, “Eyes Wide Open”, and had even a special moment for a break and a Happy Birthday to Ivy Jenkins.
As someone who listened to them from the very beginning of their career, this was more than just a nostalgic gig, it was a reminder of why the band was so big in the 2000s and continues strong and gathering fans of all generations.
