Brand of Sacrifice

The night kicked off with the Canadian metal band Brand of Sacrifice. I’d be surprised if they’re not headlining shows soon—their absolutely brutal sound, with a special shoutout to their incredible drummer, is worthy of big stages at major metal festivals.

They did an amazing job warming up the crowd for the rest of the night. Although they only played a short 30-minute set, they’re a band to keep an eye on if you love heavy breakdowns, intense screams, and an overall crushing sound.

Fit for a King

After a short changeover, it was time for Fit for a King. This American band has been going strong for almost 18 years, and their dedicated fan base was evident from the start of their set. As soon as they hit the stage, the venue erupted into movement—and it didn’t stop until the very last song.

Vocalist Ryan Kirby and bassist Ryan O’Leary completely commanded the show. Kirby’s vocals were phenomenal from the first note, and the band’s energy was undeniable. In my opinion, they should have been co-headliners on this tour, given the sheer number of fans who were there primarily for them.

Fit for a King delivered an 11-song set filled with high energy and top-tier musicianship. Their chemistry on stage made their performance seem effortless. Special mention to Ryan O’Leary—his jumps gave him more airtime than time spent on the ground!

Motionless in White

Finally, it was time for the night’s headliner: Motionless in White. Given that some band members had fallen ill earlier on the tour—leading to a shortened Munich show and a few cancellations—I was a bit anxious to see how they would perform. Fortunately, they were back in full force, and this show in Wiesbaden quickly erased my concerns.

Hailing from Scranton, PA, Motionless in White has been active since 2004. Over the years, they’ve built a strong European following, initially touring as a smaller headliner alongside Ice Nine Kills and Skold, before supporting Beartooth and later co-headlining with Spiritbox in 2023. Now, they’ve returned with a full-scale headline tour, and they are absolutely ready to dominate.

Their stage production felt more like an arena show than a mid-sized venue gig—featuring live video screens, visuals, dancers, and pyro. From the very first song, Chris Motionless sounded incredible, and the band only got tighter as the set progressed. Their stage presence balanced playfulness with professionalism, making it clear just how much work they’ve put into reaching this level.

One of the most striking moments came during “Thoughts & Prayers”, when dancers in white suits carried Bibles that burst into flames as the breakdown hit. Theatrics like this gave the show a vibe reminiscent of Ice Nine Kills’ horror-inspired performances.

Another highlight was “Slaughterhouse”, where Ryan Kirby (Fit for a King) joined the stage to perform the parts originally recorded by Bryan Garris (Knocked Loose). Seeing these two powerhouse vocalists together was a treat. The band followed up with their biggest hit to date, “Werewolf”, featuring dancers dressed as wolves.

A fan-favorite part of the show was their “wildcard song”, where they play a different track every night of the tour. This keeps things exciting, especially for fans who attend multiple shows. The wildcard song for Wiesbaden was “Sick from the Melt”, a deep cut they hadn’t performed live since 2019—much to the crowd’s delight.

For the grand finale, “Eternally Yours” featured dancers dressed in black wedding gowns, throwing roses into the audience. The entire performance was a testament to how Motionless in White has outgrown these mid-sized venues. It’s only a matter of time before they start filling arenas like Bring Me the Horizon—so catch them now while you still have the chance to get close to the stage and scream along.
