It was a special night for hardcore punk fans in London as Brazilian legends Ratos de Porão brought their 40th anniversary tour to The Underworld Camden, joined by a stacked lineup of bands.
Fantazmaz & The Vile
Opening the night was Fantazmaz. Led by a very energetic performance of lead vocalist Thamila, this exciting punk band formed by Brazilians based in London managed to get everyone out of the bar and into the pit as soon as the first riffs dropped. Their high-energy set was the perfect way to kick things off and paved the way for Nottingham quartet The Vile. With their setlist scribbled on beer cardboards, the group kept the momentum going, giving way to one of the many mosh pits and stage dives of the night.
Antisect
Antisect, who has been around since mid 80’s, brought anarchy to the stage, as anti corporate/government messages were projected during their heavy set.
Ratos de Porāo
Finally, Ratos de Porão. As soon as João Gordo took the stage, The Underworld became a sweaty mosh pit. From classic tunes such as “Crucificados pelo Sistema” and “Morrer” to recent releases such as “Alerta Antifascista”, the group played an extensive set with João Gordo bringing an incredible performance along with Jão, Boka and Juninho.
