SNAYX – Village Underground, London

SNAYX’s headline show at Village Underground in London was a memorable night that highlighted their rising prominence in the UK punk scene. The venue’s raw, industrial setting provided an ideal backdrop for a performance rooted in gritty, unfiltered energy.

Opening the evening was Bobby Wolfgang, whose brooding set laid the foundation for what was to come. Wolfgang’s dark, heavy beats and haunting vocals captivated the audience, creating an ominous atmosphere that perfectly set the stage for SNAYX. His controlled intensity built up the anticipation, and by the end of his set, the crowd was clearly ready for the headliner.

SNAYX took the stage with a clear sense of purpose, opening with ‘Work,’ a track that immediately grabbed the crowd’s attention. Their sound sharp and unrelenting, set the pace for the rest of the show. Driving drums and biting riffs filled the room as the band powered through ‘Concrete’ and ‘Cigarette,’ keeping the energy strong. Their presence was confident, and the audience responded, moving in time with the music and shouting along.

Tracks like ‘Body Language (She Could Read My)’ allowed for a more personal connection with the crowd, as vocalist Charlie Herridge’s emotive delivery cut through the noise. The band maintained a close rapport with their fans throughout the night, with their intensity drawing people in, keeping them locked into every moment of the performance.

The set briefly slowed down with ‘Braincells,’ offering a rare moment to catch a breath. It didn’t last long, though, as SNAYX soon dove back into the hard-hitting ‘Better Days’ and ‘King.’ Both tracks featured sharp, punchy lyrics and strong hooks, showcasing SNAYX’s ability to combine aggression with melody. The audience remained engaged, singing along with the anthemic choruses that embodied the rebellious spirit of the night.

‘False Friends’ and ‘Boys in Blue’ were highlights, as the politically charged lyrics struck a chord with the crowd. The band’s punk roots shone through here, with their raw, direct messaging tapping into themes of betrayal and authority. Fans in the crowd visibly connected with the lyrics, adding to the communal atmosphere that defined much of the night.

A standout moment came when Bobby Wolfgang returned to the stage to join SNAYX for ‘Breathe.’ Their combined performance added a fresh dynamic to the set, and the collaboration felt effortless, amplifying the energy in the room. The crowd’s reaction made it clear that this was a moment they wouldn’t forget anytime soon.

The band’s raw take on the song fit seamlessly with their setlist and kept the energy high as the night drew to a close. They ended with ‘Violence,’ a fitting conclusion to a night filled with intense, confrontational music that captured the essence of the punk genre.

SNAYX performance was a testament to their growing reputation as a force in punk music. Their raw sound, combined with their unfiltered delivery, left a lasting impact on the crowd. As fans left the venue, there was a sense that this was a show to remember, one that highlighted SNAYX’s ability to create a powerful live experience.
