After 4 years of writing and experimenting, post-metal group Telepathy recently released “Transmissions”, their 4th album in their 14 years of career. Formed by the polish brothers Piotr, Albert, Krystian Turek and English guitarist Richard Powley, the band was inspired by a series of photos and recordings of Józef Piłsudski, widely regarded as the founder of modern Poland. The result is an instrumental album filled with hypnotic riffs and immersive synths that transports you to a different place.
No better place than The Black Heart, London, to play the album in its entirety. The opening tracks “Oath” and “Augury”, mixing the voice recording with heavy riffs, ambient synth and shifting time signatures brings some great response from the audience. Despite being an instrumental act, a challenge when performing live,, the group manages to have everyone’s attention, bringing a great performance to the stage, headbanging and engaging with the audience.
If you’re into cinematic, instrumental post-metal that will transport you to a different landscape, Telepathy has got you sorted.
