The Prodigy’s return to Brixton on Thursday night was nothing short of electrifying! For me, this show was personal, The Prodigy massively influenced my music identity from childhood and has remained a constant through every stage of life. Photographing them was a pinch-me moment.
The night kicked off with the Pendulum remix of Voodoo People, immediately setting the tone for the following chaos. Early in the set they unveiled Fight, a new track of theirs.
A poignant moment came with Firestarter, as the LED screens lit up with a haunting close-up of Keith Flint’s eyes. A heartfelt tribute to the late icon. It was a reminder of his unforgettable contribution to the band’s legacy.
Maxim’s energy was infectious, especially when he entered the crowd during Get Your Fight On! The floor erupted during Invaders Must Die, opening the floor to the biggest pit of the evening, an adrenaline-fueled frenzy that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the night.
The encore was a spectacle. The first round featured Smack My Bitch Up, Take Me to the Hospital (introduced by Maxim as “as heavy as we get”), We Live Forever, and the timeless Out of Space. Each track a reminder of their genre-defining brilliance.
The second encore is Diesel Power. It was the perfect final punch to an incredible evening.
