Beauty School Dropout usher in their long-awaited, new era with brand new single ‘On Your Lips ‘ after taking a year off from touring and releasing music (besides 2 collaborations last year) to focus on their upcoming album and write and produce for other artists. Following a series of cryptic posts on a private Instagram account as well as many red screens and lots of butterfly imagery. They have been keeping their fans guessing at what might be happening next. We finally have an answer… their new album roll out has officially started!
Starting off strong with their new single ‘On Your Lips’, the Rock quartet composed of Colie Hutzler (Lead Vocals), Brent Burdett (Bass), Bardo Novotny (Guitar) and Colton Flurry (Drums) have taken this track in a new experimental direction. They have never been a band to put themselves in a box but have pushed the genre boundaries even further on this one, combining their distinct sound with even more complex production leading to a characteristic sound effect throughout, reminiscent of early 2000s Arcade games.

Beauty School Dropout taking their sound in a brand-new direction has allowed them to push boundaries even further, continuing to express themselves while challenging the status quo and creating music that channels this generation’s frustrations, leaving fans with a creative outlet for unapologetic self-expression, celebrating individuality.
Since their debut in 2022, they have been making waves in the alternative scene and building a very dedicated fanbase with many fans even travelling across the globe to see them at Ceremony Festival in Nashville. Back in December, they previewed this song along with another unreleased song ‘Fever’ at Ceremony Festival and both songs were met with audible gasps from the excited crowd.

“This song is our first big leap into a sound we’ve never harnessed before. It’s experimental, rhythmic, heavy, and fun all at the same time. For us it means maturing into our sound and showing we’re not the same kids, we were when we started this project 5 years ago. For the fans, it’s meant to be a track they put on at parties, late night drives, and all the cinematic moments you wish you had a score for in life.”
Their sound has evolved and levelled up so much on this track that it just scratches an itch in your brain that you didn’t know you had. This song makes their previous albums, ‘WE MADE PLANS AND GOD LAUGHED’ and ‘READY TO EAT’ which were incredible albums and critically acclaimed, amassing over 60 million streams between them, sound basic in comparison. They’ve really put so much time and effort into this project and taken it up that next gear, creating something super special for their fans, on all fronts including the visual side of the album. This is a song that is sure to soundtrack many fan’s summers this year.
There is also a complimentary music video which brings back all the early 2000s nostalgia (with many hidden easter eggs throughout). You can really tell how much thought and effort they have put into not only the new music but also the visual world surrounding this next album!
After gracing many stages with their infectious energy and attention-catching live performances across the US with Blink-182 and JXDN and around the UK and Europe with Stand Atlantic and Maggie Lindemann in recent years. They are back on tour again this summer!
