Electric Callboy – ELEVATOR OPERATOR

2025 has arrived and before we proceed to another month – we are already getting a single from no other but from German party rockers – Electric Callboy.

The sextuplet from Castrop-Rauxel presented a brand-new song from a (probably) new album we will be getting in 2025 – “Elevator Operator”. The tune is the first release since May 2024 when Electric Callboy collaborated with Japanese trio Baby Metal and delivered super successful musical effort – “RATATATA”. The bar of “Elevator Operator” is set extremely high for that reason for Germans, but knowing how much fun Electric Callboy delivers through their music – I was quite sure we will be getting yet another A+++ banger.

“Elevator Operator” composition was created by four out of six members of the band – the guitarist and  bassist Daniel Haniß plus Pascal Schillo as well as both vocalists – Nico Sallach and Kevin Ratajczak. It starts interestingly with modern, bouncy synth and Nico’s sung vocals that include hilarious reference to a person who is quite literally operating an elevator. But the operator mentioned is not your boring person who is just there to run it and help you get to the right level of a building. The titular person is the cool one who is there to make you party from the very first minute which is shortly followed by screamed lines from Kevin to back it.

As I continue to listen to the song, I cannot mention noticeably fun trance snippet around the second chorus leading to bridge screamed again by Kevin. It is so well put together that it seamlessly rolls into a very catchy breakdown… And another, humorous elevator music snippet that in my eyes gives a large homage to sometimes questionable sounds we hear while moving in a lift. The whole package is also wrapped in signature double-kick drums and playful guitars throughout the song that Germans are known from.

One final thing that makes “Elevator Operator” a standout is a phenomenal music video directed by Pascal and his brother Oliver’s company. The whole elevator universe within it is just brilliant by reaching different floors of modern CGI generated contents (cats and party with band performing being my favorite). Besides that, Uke Bosse acting is a pure cherry on top with sassy moves and charming… a mermaid played by Carina Pusch.

I am so stoked on this tune being a long-time supporter of Electric Callboy. It continues to be still enjoyable, filled with humor and heavy sounds yet kept modern and catchy. I am waiting for more and most importantly look forward to the new album cycle that “Elevator Operator” opens the gates for.
