BABYMETAL and Slaughter to Prevail released a new collaborative single titled “Song 3”. The track will feature on BABYMETAL’s fourth studio album METAL FORTH and Slaughter to Prevail’s GRIZZLY. It blends Slaughter to Prevail’s aggressive vocals with BABYMETAL’s bright, melodic style, creating high-energy, dramatic moments held together by tight production. The bandmates worked across the UK and Russia on writing and vocals, with BABYMETAL adding lyrics and melodies tied to the theme of “three.” Matt Heafy (Trivium) contributed the shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument, adding a unique edge to the sound.
The music video tells the story of a younger version of Slaughter to Prevail’s Alex Terrible facing bullying before being empowered by BABYMETAL.
This follows earlier album previews: “from me to u” (with Poppy) and RATATATA (with Electric Callboy), both earning millions of streams. METAL FORTH arrives on 8 August and can be pre-saved here.
BABYMETAL’s tour wraps up at London’s O2 Arena on 30 May – their largest venue outside Japan so far. Poppy and Bambie Thug will join as support acts.
O2 Arena tickets are available.
