Motörhead Launch Their 50th Anniversary Celebrations

Motörhead is celebrating its 50th year in 2025 with a series of releases and events. The band has played live to millions of fans and sold over 25 million albums in their career. In 2024, they had a brand new UK top 10 single with ‘Lawman’, and racked up over 320 million streams globally.

Guitarist Phil Campbell says, “It’s incredible to know that our music continues to resonate with so many people. We’re grateful to still be appreciated and the music remains vital.” Drummer Mikkey Dee adds, “The connection we have with our fans is like family, and it’s exciting to see the family still growing. Motörhead has always stood for doing it our way, and that’s timeless.”

To mark their 50th anniversary Motörhead will release special limited vinyl editions of their breakthrough albums – Overkill, Bomber, and Ace Of Spades. These will be cut as half-speed masters, be pressed in special colour configurations and include an exclusive poster. You can preorder them now.

On May 8th, International Motörhead Day, a Lemmy Forever ashes event will take place in Stoke-On-Trent, Lemmy’s birthplace. A statue of Lemmy will be unveiled, created by renowned British artist Andy Edwards. Phil Campbell will place the ashes and lead the celebrations.
You can watch a new HD version of their first TV performance from 1978 on the BBC’s Top Of The Pops show performing ‘Louie, Louie’.
There will be plenty of other celebrations happening throughout the year so keep an eye out. As the band says, “The only way to feel the noise is when it’s good and loud! Motörhead For Life, Lemmy Forever.”
