Yungblud is back with ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’, a bold nine-minute rock epic that marks his return after a period of silence. The 27-year-old Doncaster born singer-songwriter, whose last two albums topped the UK charts and broke into the Billboard Top 100, has amassed over 6 billion streams worldwide. And now he’s delivered his most ambitious track yet, a sweeping rock medley that channels the spirit of classic British rock while pushing the genre into new territory.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track Yungblud said, “Rock music is in my DNA. It’s the first genre I was ever exposed to; I grew up in a guitar shop with my Dad and my Grandfather. Rock music helped me find an identity as a human being.”
Describing the track as a “journey of self-reclamation,” Yungblud added: “It’s a goodbye to the past and how you may have known or perceived me before, and a ‘hello’ to the future and where I’m going. It’s an adventure that’s more sonically ambitious than anything I’ve done before, a track meant to be played in full, without holding back.”
The song’s origins trace back four years, before the release of his self-titled 2022 album and during the intense touring cycle for 2020’s ‘Weird!’. Reflecting on that period, Yungblud said:
“I felt like I was starting to repeat myself , I’d fallen into my own cliché. I’d become comfortable, which in some ways was good because it meant I had my own style. But I’ve always said that if people know where I’m going next, that’s my idea of failure.”
That hunger for unpredictability drove Yungblud to take a creative risk with ‘Hello Heaven, Hello.’ Releasing a nine-minute single in today’s streaming-driven music world might seem unconventional, but Yungblud sees it differently.
“I’ve been discouraged from releasing a nine-minute track as my comeback because it’s seen as a ‘risk.’ I don’t see it that way at all — I see it as an opportunity. Risk is an artist’s greatest tool — putting everything on the line in pursuit of evolution. Without risk, there is no innovation.”
The track’s release is paired with a striking music video directed by Charlie Sarsfield, which premiered globally on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop, and across MTV’s international platforms — even lighting up the Paramount Times Square billboards.
Adding to the excitement, Yungblud recently confirmed that Bludfest will return for its second year at Milton Keynes’s National Bowl on 21st June 2025. Following last year’s turnout of 40,000 fans, the festival promises another stellar lineup of emerging and established artists at an affordable price, with Yungblud once again headlining.
