Finnish folk metal icons KORPIKLAANI have just dropped a new video for ‘Harhainen Höyhen’ from their latest album, Rankarumpu (Nuclear Blast Records).
Rankarumpu, KORPIKLAANI’s twelfth studio album, is a vibrant showcase of their signature fast-paced and dynamic folk metal. It reaffirms their position as leaders in the genre.
The final track, ‘Harhainen Höyhen’, stands out with its more melancholic tone. The song’s lyrics delve into mental health issues, and this mood is perfectly captured in the atmospheric video directed by Miika Hakala, released today.
‘Harhainen Höyhen’ explores the struggles of mental health, depicting how feelings of weakness can overwhelm a person, likened to the frailest feather. These dark thoughts can sometimes lead to suicidal ideation. I’ve faced moments where voices in my head told me my time was up, but I realized I still had much to live for. This song is dedicated to everyone battling mental health issues, emphasizing the importance of self-preservation.”
