Gray Daze announces first UK tour in memory of Chester Bennington

Grey Daze marks the origin story of one of the most recognizable rock voices of our generation, little told in our lands until now. Formed in Phoenix, AZ in 1993, Grey Daze drummer and co-founder Sean Dowdell met Chester Bennington through mutual friends while they were still in high school. Their connection was instantaneous and the results revolutionary. Grey Daze toured relentlessly with two successful albums between 1994 and 1998.

As Chester's star began to shine after joining Linkin Park, the groundbreaking success of Grey Daze seemed to be forgotten. Sean and Chester remained great friends and business partners, creating the successful 'Club Tattoo' brand in the USA.

In 2016, Chester instigated the reformation of Grey Daze, with the band scheduled to perform at Club Tattoo's anniversary party in September 2017. However, Chester's tragic and untimely death on July 20, 2017, left the world in shock. The Grey Daze reunion show, which would also have featured original bassist Mace Beyers and newly-recruited guitarist Cristin Davis, never took place. Chester Bennington, devoted husband and father of six, passed away at the age of 41.

Emerging from the tragedy, the remaining members of Grey Daze, who had already started working with Chester on a new album, discovered the original recordings of Chester's unmistakable vocals. After much deliberation, this inspired them to finish the work so that it could be celebrated for years to come.

In 2020, "Amends" was released by Loma Vista Recordings, reaching #1 in the UK rock & metal album charts. The album featured special guest appearances from members of Korn, POD, Bush, Breaking Benjamin and even vocal performances from Chester's family, who got hugely involved in the project.

Given the success of "Amends", Grey Daze released the second posthumous album to immortalize Chester's distinctive vocals in 2022, entitled "The Phoenix". It reached #2 in the UK rock and metal charts and featured Dave Navarro on guitar, Richard Patrick from Filter and even twins Lily and Lila Bennington, who were able to sing with their father for the last time.

Grey Daze will perform in the UK for the first time in May 2024, marking 30 years since their first release.
