Zeal & Ardor Announce New Album "GREIF" + Share New Track "to my ilk"

Imagine a creature that breathes, consumes and transforms itself, always keeping its essence intact. That's the band ZEAL & ARDOR, a living musical entity, founded and led by Manuel Gagneux. Over the years, this beast has sharpened its claws, lengthened its teeth and strengthened its nerves, becoming ever more undeniable and unpredictable.

Now, after racking up millions of streams and receiving critical acclaim, the creature is ready to show its most dynamic and dangerous form on its fourth full-length, self-produced album, entitled GREIF, scheduled for release on August 23rd.

The title, GREIF, é inspirado em uma tradição anual na cidade natal de Gagneux, Basel, na Suíça, onde uma criatura mítica híbrida ? um leão, uma cobra e um pássaro ? desfila pelas ruas, simbolizando a resistência dos trabalhadores de Basel contra a elite opressora. A amalgama de energias e a fisicalidade do animal tornaram o nome apropriado para o novo capítulo da banda.

Como um prelúdio, o grupo compartilhou a faixa final do álbum, ?to my ilk?, uma poética conclusão com guitarras blues soltas serpenteando em torno de palmas fortes, enquanto a voz de Manuel ecoa por um coro, evocando emoções profundas.

Desta vez, Gagneux decidiu sacudir as coisas, convidando seus companheiros de banda ? Tiziano Volante [guitarra], Marc Obrist [vocais], Denis Wagner [vocais], Lukas Kurmann [baixo] e Marco Von Allmen [bateria] ? para expandir seus horizontes no estúdio. Recorded in the Hutch Sounds studio in Switzerland in just five months, GREIF features three voices for the first time, broadening the color palette with moments of anger, accusation, consolation and happiness, exploring previously untried paths.
