Crawlers at The Dome, London – 7th December 2024

Slowly Slowly

The final evening of the ‘The Mess We Seem To Make’ tour took place at The Dome in London with support from Slowly Slowly, hailing from Australia. Despite being a band member down due to illness, Slowly Slowly still put on a show, performing many fan favourites including ‘Gimme The Wrench’ which had the crowd chanting the lyrics back to them and their most recent release ‘How Are You Mine?’. They truly have mastered the art of upbeat and catchy songs.

Next up was the highly anticipated Crawlers who took to the stage as the fans all cheered. Kicking off their set with ‘I End Up Alone’ from their debut album, released earlier this year. Their set was upbeat and energetic throughout the whole evening, playing mostly songs from their new album but also throwing in some older fan favourites every now and then. They slowed down the set when guitarist Amy and lead singer Holly climbed into the crowd and sat on the floor to sing ‘Hang me Like Jesus’ acoustically, surrounded by all their fans singing along with them, which was such a special moment. Before they got back on stage to sing the heartfelt ‘Golden Bridge’. They then picked the pace back up with ‘That Time Of Year Always’.

One thing that was evident throughout the whole evening was how much they care about their fans, from interacting with the crowd to all the tiny details that go into the show to ensure they all have the best experience. It was also clear how much they were enjoying being on stage performing this body of work for us. Liv was absolutely killing it on bass despite having to play seated due to an injury, that didn’t stop her from headbanging all night. They all brought so much energy to the stage which combined with the lighting made for the most incredible atmosphere as the fans all sang every word back to them.

We also got to hear an unreleased song, ‘Afraid to Die’. This was the only point during the show that the crowd was silent as they listened in awe, taking it all in. I loved this song and can’t wait for it to be released! It sounded new and exciting, a different twist on their signature sound but still familiar, it had really interesting production and appeared to be taking them in a new direction musically.

We were then invited to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to their Tour Manager Mark before ending the memorable concert with a 2-song encore of ‘I Can’t Drive’ and ‘Come Over (Again)’.
