Steve Von Till announces UK shows in August

Steve Von Till, best known as singer and guitarist of pioneering post-metal band Neurosis, is embarking on a UK tour this August to showcase songs from his recent solo albums. This will be the first time he has brought his new style of ambient and neoclassical music to Europe.

In the summer of 2020, Von Till released his fifth solo album, No Wilderness Deep Enoughwhich blended elements of ambient, neoclassical, gothic americana and psychedelia. The following year, he released the follow-up album A Deep Voiceless Wilderness, an instrumental version focused solely on the enveloping and luxurious instrumentation.

These two albums represent a new musical direction for Von Till, expanding on the style first explored in his Harvestman project. They have been praised for their atmospheric and emotionally resonant soundscapes.

Steve Von Till concerts in the UK

At the UK shows, Von Till will perform material from both albums, as well as some selected older songs and spoken word pieces. He will be accompanied by a backing ensemble consisting of Dave French on synths, guitars and percussion; Braden Diotte on organ and modular synths; and PJ Van Assche on double bass.

In addition to recent solo work, Von Till can intersperse some classic Neurosis tracks along with readings from his book 23 Untitled Poems and Collected Lyrics. This collection showcases his naturalistic and philosophical lyrics accumulated over years of writing and recording music.

The UK concerts demonstrate Von Till's continued evolution as an artist. Where his work in Neurosis was known for its raw metal influenced sound, his recent solo albums and Harvestman project reveal an artist willing to explore radically different musical terrain. Fans can look forward to a setlist ranging from melancholic neoclassical pieces to psychedelic americana that together create an immersive live experience.
