Stranger Vision Toured UK Promoting Their New Album

Stranger Vision once again invaded the UK, bringing their power/prog metal all the way from Modena, Italy at the end of March. Their mission was simple: to win over UK fans with their own take on the genre’s technical and melodic storytelling. Their final show was held at London’s New Cross Inn, alongside three other passionate bands which are working hard to pursue their musical dreams.

The headliners released their brand new album FAUST Act 1: Prelude to Darkness, which they have been tirelessly promoting both at home and abroad since November. Their fast tempos keep you on your toes for the duration of the entire set. Energy is what makes this band great to watch live, as the whole group plays with ease and virtuosity. What truly stands out is their ability to make power metal feel both grand and fun. They fully embrace the genre’s theatricality, using it to heighten their performance. The prog elements open up space for the ever-climbing melodies which build tension and excitement, at the end almost bursting with the impressive vocal range of their singer. If you’re a fan of Symphony X or Dream Theater, Stranger Vision will be a great addition to your playlist.

The night was opened by one of London’s own rising talents—Tales of Perdition—who brought their symphonic metal, incorporating prog and metalcore to create a lovely mix that’s both pleasing to the ears and fun to watch on stage. Their fun range of genres creates a dynamic sound that’s as emotionally rich and its technically solid. They are very tight on stage and perform with absolute harmony. Alea—their vocalist—wraps it up beautifully with a voice that gives you goosebumps. Her delivery cuts through the wall of sound and invites you to scream loudly with her. Tales are regular performers in the capital, frequently seen on the lineups of many underground shows. They bring that 2000s vibe and nostalgia, very reminiscent of Trivium or Nightwish but with their own original twist. It’s really exciting to see them grow. These newcomers are currently working on a new album, with a release date set for the end of the year.

The stacked Sunday lineup also featured Grimgotts, a London-based band known for blending high fantasy themes with classic power metal. Drawing heavy inspiration from bands like Gloryhammer and Rhapsody of Fire, Grimgotts transport listeners to distant realms full of dragons, warriors, and epic battles. Their recent album, The Time of The Wolfrider – perfect fit for fans of escapist, narrative-driven metal.

We also got to enjoy the headliners’ main support, another Italian band, Aether Void. Their set was explosive, commanding and theatrical but never over-the-top. Their vocalist knew exactly how to keep us hooked and paying attention. They have the resources and talent to match Stranger Visions’s success back home and with a little bit of patience and good luck to also find the fans abroad.
